Same foundation work, on your own time. Mini courses walk you through values, strengths, what's in the way, what your dreams are, the same territory we'd cover in blueprint work, just self-paced. Workshops and office hours give you a place to work through it out loud instead of alone.
Adventure — how it works in Community
Courses guide you through the exploration process, workshops support what you are learning, access to the Compass Guides industry professionals across agencies, available for real conversations. Group discussions let you compare notes with other members, so you're not exploring alone either.
Pathfinding — how it works in Community
The real-time job board means you're seeing new roles as they're posted, not scrolling stale listings. Templates and resources for your resume, outreach, and interview prep give you the tools without having to build them from scratch. Hi, I'm Sam founder of YCC and your coach.
I'm an ICF-certified coach (ACC), trained through Brown University's coaching program, and a former creative recruiter, co-founder of a boutique recruitment firm that placed talent at Wieden+Kennedy, Droga5, Ogilvy, Apple, Google, Lyft, Brooks Running, and other top agencies and brands for 25 years.
That combination, recruiter and coach means I can work with you through the whole journey: from figuring out what you actually want, to going out and getting it.

Is this 1:1 coaching or group coaching?
Compass is a group-based membership with ongoing career guidance, live Office Hours, workshops, community support, and recruiter insight from me.
It is not a replacement for private 1:1 coaching. It’s designed to give you a place to keep showing up, ask questions, get direction, and stay supported as you move through your career questions and job search.
If you decide you want dedicated 1:1 time, members have access to private coaching sessions with me. Annual members also receive additional coaching benefits, including one 30-minute Guide Session and access to discounted coaching packages.
What are Office Hours and workshops?
Workshops rotate through the topics members ask for most — networking, interviewing, salary negotiation, career transitions, portfolio reviews, leadership, job search strategy, and more.
Everything is recorded, so you can watch on your own time if you can’t make it live.
Office Hours are where you can bring your specific questions and get support in real time — whether you’re stuck on an application, preparing for an interview, navigating a decision, or just wondering what to do next.
Who is Compass Membership for?
Compass is for anyone navigating a career question they don’t have a clear place to bring.
Students and new grads trying to figure out where to start. Early-career creatives who thought the path would be clearer by now. Mid-career and senior professionals navigating a pivot, layoff, transition, or quiet “is this still it?” moment.
If you’re somewhere in the in-between, this is for you.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly memberships can be cancelled anytime with no long-term commitment.
Annual memberships are paid upfront for the year and include additional benefits, including a 30-minute Guide Session with Sam and access to discounted private coaching packages.
What’s the difference between Compass and 1:1 coaching?
Private 1:1 coaching is a dedicated engagement with me, focused entirely on your specific career, goals, challenges, and next steps. It’s the right fit when you want deep, personalized support.
Compass gives you ongoing support in a more accessible format with live sessions, Office Hours, workshops, community, the MAP library, job board, and coaching and recruiter insight built in.
Some people start in Compass and add 1:1 coaching later. Others come from 1:1 coaching and join Compass to keep the momentum going.
Do members get access to private coaching?
Yes. Members can book private 50-minute coaching sessions with Sam at a preferred member rate.
Annual members receive one 30-minute Guide Session included with their membership and exclusive access to discounted 4- and 8-session private coaching packages.
What is Inner Circle access?
Inner Circle gives members access to a curated group of industry professionals who are available for private, paid 1:1 sessions.
These are people inside the industries, companies, and roles you may be curious about — available for real conversations, perspective, and guidance beyond a webinar or panel.
Do I need to be in a creative field for this to work for me?
My background is in placing talent at agencies and brands, so I bring that lens to the work — especially around storytelling, positioning, networking, and navigating creative industries.
But the questions Compass is built around are universal: What do I want? How do I talk about what I do best? How do I network? How do I move through a transition? How do I stay confident when the path feels unclear?
