Labs

Two labs.

On your own or in a small group.

I spent 25 years as a creative recruiter, deciding who got hired at places like Wieden+Kennedy, Droga5, Apple, and Google. These programs are everything I know about how hiring really works, built so you can start today and move as fast as you need to.

Each lab comes two ways: on your own, starting today, or in a small group with me.

What's Next Lab

For when you don't know what's next.

Maybe you're just starting out. Maybe you're 20 years in. Either way, you're stuck on the same question: What now?

Most people try to answer it by scrolling job boards. That's working backward. You can't search for something you haven't named yet.

This is for you if you're early in your career and don't know which direction to pick, if you're experienced and ready for something different but can't name it yet, or if you've been searching for a while and suspect you're chasing the wrong thing.

What we cover

  1. Start With You, Not the Job Board. Write your Personal Brief, find your Ikigai, and name the values you won't trade away.

  2. Good At It Isn't the Same as Lit Up by It. Name your strengths and the skills that travel with you, and track what gives you energy and what drains it.

  3. Three Directions, Not One Perfect Answer. Mind map where your values and strengths could lead, run the list through real life, and choose three directions to test.

  4. Go Ask the People Doing It. Research a field the way a recruiter would, find the right people, and send a note that gets answered.

  5. What You Heard, and What It Means. Debrief every conversation, and score each direction against your values and your filters.

  6. Choose a Direction, Not a Forever. Write your one-page direction, say it out loud, and plan your next 30 days.

I spent 25+ years on the other side of the hiring table. I know what gets people noticed, and what gets them skipped.

This is for you if you've been applying and hearing nothing, if you're starting your search and want to do it right, or you need to learn new strategies to make progress around what’s next.

What we cover:

  • You Are a Brand. See how hiring really works, find what gives you energy, and write your Personal Brief.

  • Own Your Story. Build your brag sheet, write a resume a recruiter will read, and set up your LinkedIn to be found.

  • Research Like a Recruiter. Build a target list of 15 to 20 companies you believe in, and find the people inside them.

  • Reach Out Without Being Weird. Learn how the hidden job market works, send your first messages, and find your helpers.

  • Interview Like You Belong There. Decode the job description, tell your stories, and prepare for the room.

  • Offers, Negotiation and What's Next. Handle competing offers, name your number, and plan your first 30 days.

“I was trying to break into advertising but struggling to find the right direction. I was getting occasional interviews, but I had not yet uncovered what I truly wanted from my career or how to position myself in a way that felt authentic.Working with Sam Glatzer changed that. Through her MAP Process, which emphasizes deep self-reflection, exploration, and intentional pathfinding, I gained real clarity on what drives me and what kind of work I want to build my career around.” —— Dan Rubin - Account Executive

“I found Sam when I was in a dark place career-wise - I knew something needed to change but I had no idea what or how. Sam's program helped guide me to a place of clarity about my needs and motivations so I could make grounded decisions and goals about the next steps in my working life.”—Clancy Fink CD

“Sam's career coaching has been incredibly helpful and insightful as I've been navigating the next chapter in my career. But most importantly, her expertise and genuine interest in helping her students really shines through. You become a part of a community, as well, where there's a real sense of a collective support system. I'd highly recommend YourCareerCompass for anyone wanting to either take the next step in their career or pivot into another profession.” — Nicholas Choremi ACD Art
